Information for parents

Chi Alpha is a network of college ministries located on over 300 campuses across the United States. We are a student community earnestly seeking Jesus.

Although it sounds like it, Chi Alpha is not Greek (not a fraternity or sorority). The words "Chi" and "Alpha" are abbreviated from "Christ's Ambassadors," derived from 2 Corinthians 5:20.

On campus, Chi Alpha holds an interdenominational stance, meaning we welcome students of all faiths to belong. As an organization, we are an outreach of the Assemblies of God fellowship to the college campuses of the world. Get more info about our parent organization at Chi Alpha's national site.

You can help your student get involved in a lot of different ways. Encourage them to come to large group on Tuesday nights and to join a small group. Road trips are always great for making friends, so we hope you encourage and support your student to come to our annual conferences and mission projects.

Chi Alpha at PVAMU is a fully registered student organization at Prairie View A&M. This usually requires certain standards to be met by the group, such as creating and adhering to a Constitution & Bylaws, attending informational and other required sessions by the university, and being under the supervision of a faculty adviser from the university. These standards are put in place by most universities for all student organizations to ensure the safety of your child, and Chi Alpha is happy to comply.

Absolutely! We know that despite all the ways to find us online and on campus, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start. We would be happy to have one of our student leaders contact your child by email or Instagram to help start the ball rolling. Reach out here.
