WHAT IS A MISSION TRIP?
"A mission trip is any step you take to advance or build the kingdom of God."
Mission trips are local or international volunteering opportunities that focuses on working with local ministries to provide support for the ministry work done there. Mission trips with Prairie View Chi Alpha focuses on ministries that not only encourage their community, but work primarily to fulfill the great commission within that context.
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." Matt 28:19.
PV Chi Alpha offers it's students various opportunities to go on these short term trips around the country.
WHY MISSION TRIPS?
A mission trip is one of the best ways to step outside of your comfort zone, gain new perspective, and minister. It is an opportunity to put ourselves aside and serve those in our local and international communities; "be the hands and feet of Jesus..." as they say. It helps us to see God's global movement beyond our everyday life.
Mission trips causes us to experience different cultures and find a new understanding to what a life with God looks like in many situations. It also is an opportunity to share our testimony to someone who may not know about God's love. It takes the great commission from the words on a page of the bible and makes it a reality for many others out there who are in need of a new reality.
